So, How to Choose a Camera? Let us inform you a little about it.

While determining the cameras to be included in the system, different alternatives can be evaluated according to the technology used, place of use and purpose of use. The most important issue here is to determine the needs exactly and to determine the products that will meet these needs at the most affordable cost. At this stage, we will examine the camera types according to the technology used;

1) Analog Cameras

Analog cameras are the most common and older technology products in the market. Analogue cameras, which attract attention before other products due to their easy installation and low cost, cannot reach very high figures in terms of resolution. The working principles are quite simple. The image taken with fixed or mobile cameras is transmitted to the recording device (DVR) over UTP cables. The recorder converts these images to digital and stores them in high quality.

2) IP Cameras

The IP camera is directly connected to a network, just like a computer. Since the video is recorded directly to digital media, you will not need a DVR to digitize it. You do not need to connect the camera to a recording device, because each device is connected to the network. Also, IP cameras use internet cable which is thinner, more flexible and more convenient than coaxial cable. Most IP cameras can be powered by internet cable and single cable is much more convenient than twin cable in DVR. In terms of resolution, it is more advantageous than analog cameras.

Types of cameras;

  1. Bullet Cameras
  • It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use optionally.
  • It is more flexible in terms of assembly. With the robotic neck design, the viewing angle can be adjusted to the desired location, so it gives better results to deter thieves or attackers.
  • Ideal for surveillance of relatively small areas or narrow areas such as stairs, hallways, entryways, front and back doors.
  • They are generally weather resistant and have wider ranges.
  • Light reflection is less likely.
  • It is suitable for day and night use.

  1. Dome Cameras
  • It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use optionally.
  • It provides an aesthetic appearance as it adapts to the decor in indoor use.
  • Since the lens position does not point to any position, it hides the subject you are capturing.
  • It can be rotated 360°Horizontal to cover a wide range.
  • “The transparent dome protecting the camera is very rigid, able to withstand a lot of physical force consists of an outer covering.”
  • Suitable for day and night use
  1. PTZ Cameras
  • It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use optionally.
  • The camera can be steered to move back and forth or up and down.
  • It can be adjusted to the desired zooming or zooming level, so it can be preferred in large areas and long distances.
  • It includes remote control software for users and users can easily make these changes from anywhere with an internet connection.
  • It can be rotated 360°Horizontal 90°Vertical to cover a wide circumference.
  • Since the lens position does not point to any position, it hides the subject you are capturing.
  • It provides an aesthetic appearance as it adapts to the decor in indoor use.
  • The transparent dome protecting the camera consists of a very hard outer cover that can withstand a great deal of physical force.
  • Suitable for day and night use

How to seleect recorder;

The images from the security cameras pass through the CCTV cabling and reach the recording platforms as analog and digital. The recording device used in analog is called DVR. In digitally used systems, images from network-based IP cameras are recorded by software running on NVR and software-based server.

DVR

  • The recording device of images from analog cameras is called DVR.
  • It can have features such as image and sound recording, remote monitoring, backup, playback of recordings.
  • The number of channels varies according to the amount of cameras that can be connected.
  • It is a cost-effective solution, very easy to install.
  • Requires cabling for all cameras, the number of DVRs increases depending on the number of cameras.
  • Image quality is limited and requires a certain limitation on resolution.

NVR

  • The recording device of images from network-based IP cameras is called NVR
  • It can have features such as image and sound recording, remote monitoring, backup, playback of recordings.
  • The number of channels varies according to the amount of cameras that can be connected. Channel support is more than DVR.
  • Offers maximum resolution
  • Cabling cost is low because it uses network infrastructure
  • Provides easy management and maintenance
  • No need for extra power lines thanks to its PoE feature
